National Artichoke Heart Day

When the proverbial caveman first picked up an artichoke and pricked his finger, his first thought probably wasn't "Mmm. Must eat!" But start peeling away those spiny leaves and you'll find the smooth, tender artichoke heart. The caveman must have gotten wise to the artichoke's delicious hidden core and its many nutritional benefits, because his descendants have contributed nearly a thousand recipes to CDK that have artichoke as an ingredient.
