The sugar cookie is successful because of its simplicity. Made with the basic cookie ingredients of sugar, flour, butter, eggs, vanilla, and baking soda, these cookies can be rolled out and cut into shapes, or made by rolling bits of dough into balls and flattening lightly into their most common round shape.
