Aquavit's Elderflower Martini Recipe

Put the zest in the bottom of a large martini glass. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the remaining ingredients. Shake and strain into the glass.

A member of the honeysuckle family, elderflower emits a similar fragrance. Long a European staple, elderflower cordial (a concentrate made from elderflowers, sugar and citric acid) has been popping up recently, most noticeably in cocktails like the elderflower martini at Aquavit in New York.
