The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

ingredients
1 1/2 pound watermelon
2 cups sparkling water
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 ounce lime juice
directions
Cut pulp from watermelon and remove seeds. Put in a blender with water and salt. Blend until smooth.
Add lime juice. You may add more water if desired. Serve with ice.
