This iconic whiskey is a "Jack of all trades" when it comes to cooking. Toss it in some pasta, as a savory dipping sauce, and even bake it into something sweet.

This cake has the icing right in the batter! The result is a very moist and flavorful cake (and you can still frost it if you wish)
1 package (15-17 ounce size) spice cake mix
4 whole eggs
3/4 cup oil
1 cup milk
1 can caramel frosting
Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
Break eggs into a mixing bowl and beat by hand. Add all remaining ingredients EXCEPT frosting. Mix well by hand. Fold in frosting.
Grease and flour a 12 cup tube or angel food cake pan. Pour mix in evenly. Place cake pan on a cookie sheet and place in the oven. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
If you want, only use 2/3 of the frosting in the mix. Microwave the remainder until soft and drizzle over the cake.
Do NOT use a mixer to make this cake. It incorporates too much air into the batter and the cake will overflow in the oven. Hence the name "Crawlin Cake".

Keeping a can of frozen orange juice concentrate in the freezer means you can make more than just orange juice. Try it in a variety of orange-flavored recipes.

This looks like a great easy recipe! I was just wondering if one could use a homemade frosting, keeping the measurements the same ? Thank you..
Yes, it should work as long as the frosting is the same consistency of store bought.
I'm wondering if this cake would be successful in a standard 9 x 13 cake pan. Anyone try it that way?
Because of the way the cake bakes you'd have to bake it in two 9x13 pans (divide the batter between them). We haven't tried it this way and I wouldn't expect anywhere near the same results but if you do try it, please let us know how it worked out!

I've made this cake many many times now using a variety of cake mix flavors and frosting flavors. It's a fool proof recipe and it makes such an amazingly delicious and moist cake. It's a great way to make a cake from a mix and not have anyone know it's not from scratch. My favorite combinations have been the one listed here, chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting, lemon cake with lemon frosting, and white cake with cherry frosting (a beautiful light pink colored cake!).

This is the easiest and moistest cake recipe EVER! I tried it with chocolate cake mix and chocolate frosting...To die for! Thanks for the heads up about not using the mixer!

This cake turned out great! I used a 10" tube pan baked 45 min. the cake came out firm and moist. I used all the icing in the mix. No "crawlin" cake here! My husband raved, this will be a favorite in our family. The cake mix I used was German chocolate and the icing was coconut pecan but the receipe was the same, enjoy!
