Classic Strawberries Romanoff

ingredients
3 cups strawberries
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup good vanilla ice cream
1/4 cup Cointreau
directions
Wash and hull strawberries, then sprinkle with sugar and chill thoroughly (2 to 4 hours) in refrigerator.
Just before serving, beat cream until stiff. Beat ice cream until fluffy and fold into whipped cream. Add Cointreau, then fold in chilled strawberries (save a few for garnish, if desired).
Pour into a serving bowl and serve immediately.
