over 5 hrs
ingredients
Sorbet
6 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
2 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup fresh orange juice
1/4 cup orange flavored liqueur
Sauce
1/2 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
6 ounces white chocolate, chopped
1/2 teaspoon grated orange zest
1 teaspoon lemon juice
orange zest, for garnish
directions
For Sorbet: Place the dark chocolate in a large heat proof bowl. Place the water and sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then cook for 1 minute.
Pour over the chocolate. Let stand for 2 minutes, then whisk until smooth. Add the orange juice and liqueur and mix well. Cool, then freeze in an ice cream freezer according to manufacturer's directions.
Transfer to a container and freeze until firm, about 1 hour.
For Sauce: Simmer the cream and corn syrup until well blended. Remove from heat and add the white chocolate. Stir until melted. Stir in the orange zest and lemon juice.
To serve, drizzle warm sauce over a scoop of sorbet, garnishing with the orange zest. Serve immediately.

They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.
