Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

Devilishly delicious. Almond stuffed prunes are wrapped in bacon and broiled until crisp and savory. A great party appetizer.

1/2 pound pitted prunes
3/4 cup whole, unblanched almonds
10 slices bacon
hot mango chutney
Preheat the broiler.
Press an almond into each prune. Cut the bacon into slices just long enough to wrap around each prune with a small overlap. Wrap a slice of the bacon around each prune and secure with a toothpick.
Place the bacon-wrapped prunes on a broiler pan or in a shallow baking dish. Place under the broiler and cook, turning the prunes as needed, until the bacon is crisp and browned.
Alternately, these can be baked at 400 degrees F for 10-15 minutes.
Serve the bacon-wrapped prunes warm with mango chutney.

I absolutely love bacon-wrapped prunes! They are the perfect blend of salty and sweet, and they are so easy to make. These are seriously the best things ever. If you haven't tried them, you need to!
