Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

Bacon is the one friend that never lets us down. It makes everything taste great. No exception here. Take date'ing' to a whole new level! Fill dates with almonds and wrap in our friend, bacon. Pop in the oven and watch the yumminess happen.

4 ounces blanched whole almonds
1 pound pitted dates
1 1/2 pound sliced bacon, cut into thirds
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
Press an almond into the center of each date. Wrap each date with a piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick. Place on the baking sheet.
Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake at 400 degrees F for 12-15 minutes or until the bacon is crisp (turn the dates halfway through the cooking time).
Place the dates on paper toweling to drain for a few minutes then serve while still warm.

It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).
Love the spinach dip at restaurants like TGIFriday's and the Olive Garden? Make it at home with these easy-to-follow copycat recipes.

It was good except there was to much bacon. Maybe try half a piece of bacon. You should also put cream cheese with the almonds. Every thing ekse was delicious. I especially like the flavors blended together in a perfect way. - The Food Critic

Just returned from Murcia, Spain where we had these in restaurant called Restaurant Rebate near El Mojon and Campoamor. They were served on a bed of lettuce as a starter - just divine. Can't wait to cook them myself! They also serve steak like nowhere else on earth, about 2 inches thick and melts in your mouth.
