1 package yellow cake mix 1 can apple pie filling 3 eggs 3 teaspoons sugar 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a 13x9 cake pan.
Combine cake mix, apple pie filling and eggs. Beat 2 minutes with mixer at medium speed. Combine sugar and cinnamon. Spread half the batter into the pan, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, pour over remaining batter and sprinkle with the remaining sugar mixture. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Valerie's Review REVIEW: October 5, 2005 A followup: We tried this with cherry pie filling too - and it was very tasty. Don't use a mixer with the cherry filling (unless a pink cake is what you are going for). We carefully swirled the filling through the cake mix. We also omitted the cinnamon/sugar layer.

Made this tonight and we loved it. I was leery about using such few ingredients but it was tasty and moist and I will be making this again as it is sooooooo easy.

I make homemade apple pie in a jar and was searching online for a cake recipe. I used this recipe with the addition of adding Smucker's caramel sauce. I put half of the batter in the pan; drizzled some caramel sauce; put the rest of the batter in the pan. When I took it out of the oven I drizzled more on top to form a thin layer and served it with cool whip. It was a great success! very moist and easy when you are limited on time to make a great dessert.

This cake was so dry nobody would eat it. It was awful. Shouldn't there be some oil or water in the recipe?
