- #45907
30-60 minutes
ingredients
1 package (1 pound size) frozen pizza crust dough, thawed
1 cup canned tomato sauce
1 1/3 cup part-skim mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 jar (13.75 ounce size) artichoke hearts or bottoms, drained and sliced into 1/4-inch pieces
cooking spray to coat calzones
directions
Heat oven to 425 degrees F.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out 1/4 of dough into an 11-inch circle. Move to a parchment-covered baking pan.
Cover half of circle with 1/4 cup of sauce, 1/3 cup of mozzarella, 1 tablespoon of Parmesan cheese and 1/4 of artichokes, leaving a 1/2-inch border.
Fold dough over sauced half, pinching edge with fingers and rolling edge up one turn. Repeat with remaining ingredients to make three more calzones.
Coat calzones with cooking spray. Bake until golden brown, about 15 to 20 minutes.

They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
This Italian cheese is so versatile that it can be used in both sweet and savory recipes from cheesecakes to lasagnas.
