This is a wonderfully creamy fruit punch spiked with vodka. The orange sherbet melts to make it creamy but also helps keep it chilled longer. It's always a hit.

ingredients

2 cups fresh pineapple juice, well chilled
2 cans (6 ounce size) frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice, well chilled
2 quarts ginger ale (or 7-Up), well chilled
1 jar stemless maraschino cherries, undrained
3 cups vodka
1 pint orange sherbet

directions

Place the pineapple juice, thawed orange juice concentrate, and lemon juice in a punch bowl. Gently stir in the ginger ale, vodka, and cherries with their liquid.

Float scoops of the orange sherbet on top. Serve immediately.

recipe tips

Plan Ahead

While the punch only takes a few minutes to assemble, make sure to plan ahead and have the juices and ginger ale well chilled in advance. Otherwise, the sherbet will melt too quickly and the punch won't be as festive or flavorful.

  1. MM Fielding REVIEW:

Used plain vanilla ice cream instead of the sherbet - AMAZING! Was a wonderful creamy citrus punch that was a pretty color too.

  2. texassamstuff REVIEW:

This fun, fizzy cocktail is refreshing on hot hazy summer days. For a child friendly version, replace the vodka with extra soda and fruit juice.

  3. Hanah REVIEW:

Awesome punch! Used it at our new years party. We ended up making three more batches! Tasty and packs a punch.

  4. mschicky REVIEW:

I used orange vodka as the other review suggested. Delicious!

  5. Guest Foodie REVIEW:

Great summer drink because the sherbet keeps the punch cold while it melts. You can also freeze the cherries in some gingerale in ice cube trays if you need to keep it cold longer.

  6. Itchy Witch REVIEW:

Used rainbow sherbet in this thinking it'd be tasty. Didn't really think how it would look melting. Tasted great but looked kinda icky. Stick with the orange or at least a solid color!

Whipping this up for a bbq tomorrow. It's our favorite boozy punch!

  8. Xmas Party REVIEW:

I am serving this for the second year and doubling the recipe. I serve it at our Christmas party and it is light and refreshing and disappears quickly.
