Sour Cream Smothered Chicken Livers

ingredients
1 pound chicken livers
1/2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 medium onion, sliced thin
1 can (4 ounce size) mushrooms, drained
4 ounces butter
4 tablespoons water
1 cup sour cream
3 cups cooked rice
directions
Wash chicken livers, if large cut in half. Roll in flour and salt. Puncture each piece with a fork.
Drain mushrooms. Melt butter in a large skillet and add livers, mushrooms and onions. Brown quickly on all sides. Drain off any excess fat.
Add water and cover. Simmer for 10 minutes. Add sour cream and heat thoroughly.
Serve immediately over rice.
