A beefy version of pigs in a blanket. Savory meatballs are wrapped in crescent roll dough and baked until golden brown. Makes a great appetizer.
1 pound lean ground beef
1 package onion soup mix
1 package (8 count size) refrigerated crescent rolls
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Combine the ground beef and onion soup mix. Mix well. Form the beef mixture into 1-inch size meatballs and place them on a broiler pan or a rack in a baking dish.
Place the meatballs in the oven and bake for 15 minutes or until almost done. Do not fully cook them.
Set the meatballs aside to drain and cool.
Unroll the crescent roll dough on a work surface. Cut the dough down the middle and separate the dough into pieces.
Place a meatball on the wide side of one piece of dough. Roll the dough up around the meatball and place on a rimmed baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining meatballs and dough triangles.
Place the covered meatballs in the oven and bake at 375 degrees F for 13-15 minutes or until the dough is lightly browned and the meatballs are cooked through.
Serve the meatballs hot. They can be served with dipping sauces such as ketchup, ranch dressing, etc.
