Beef Basil Balls Recipe

Serves/Makes: 3 dozen
Ingredients:
1 pound extra lean ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped fine
1 large green onion, chopped fine
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh basil leaves
2 tablespoons light soy sauce
1 pinch sugar
Freshly ground black pepper
36 very large basil leaves
Directions:
Combine beef, onions, green onions, chopped basil, soy sauce, sugar, and pepper. Mix thoroughly. Form into ovals about 1/2 inch around and 1 1/2 inches long.
Wrap a basil leaf around each oval. Secure leaves with toothpicks and bake on a jelly roll pan (a cookie sheet with sides) at 425 degrees for 10 minutes.
These can also be cooked on the grill, on skewers. Cook about 3 minutes per side.
