- add review
- #88696
These macaroons are a treat that artfully combines the crunch of corn flakes with the chewy goodness of shredded coconut.
30-60 minutes
ingredients
1 egg white
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup shredded coconut
1 cup corn flakes
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 pinch salt
directions
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
Beat the egg white in a bowl until stiff peaks form. Fold in the sugar, coconut, corn flakes, almond extract, vanilla extract, and salt.
Drop the macaroons by teaspoonfuls onto a baking sheet. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake at 325 degrees F for 20 minutes.
Remove the macaroons from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 2-3 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
When the corn flake macaroons are completely cool, store in an airtight container.

Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.
A can of cream of mushroom soup can be a real dinner saver. It works great in casseroles and can turn into a sauce or gravy in a pinch.
