Why stop at three or four beans? Five bean casserole is the way to go. With bacon, sausage, and onion, this sweet and smoky slow-cooked bean bonanza is sure to satisfy.

1 pound sausage, left in links or sliced
2 medium onions, diced
1/2 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 can (15 ounce size) navy beans, rinsed and drained
1 can (15 ounce size) lima beans, rinsed and drained
1 can (15 ounce size) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 can (15 ounce size) butter beans, rinsed and drained
1 can (15 ounce size) pork and beans
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons dry mustard
3 tablespoons liquid smoke
1 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
Add the sausage, onion, and bacon to the crock pot. Add all the beans.
In a bowl, mix together the brown sugar, dry mustard, liquid smoke, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over the sausage and beans and mix well.
Cover the crock pot and cook on low heat for 4 hours or until the sausage is cooked through.
