Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

Strips of pork are slow cooked in a soy sauce, brown sugar, and garlic mixture in the crock pot. The pork turns out wonderfully tender and flavorful. Stir in the cashews during the last 30 minutes of cooking or simply garnish with them when serving.

1 1/2 pound boneless pork, cut into strips
1 tablespoon soy sauce
4 cloves garlic, chopped
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 pound roasted cashews
steamed rice
Combine the pork, soy sauce, garlic, and brown sugar in a crock pot. Cover the crock pot and cook on low heat for 2-3 hours or high heat for 1-2 hours, or until the pork is cooked.
During the last 30 minutes of cook time, add the cashews. Mix well.
Serve the pork over steamed rice.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
Beer makes batters better, meat more tender, and sauces more flavorful.

I increased the recipe to 8 servings and the cooking time (4-6 hrs, I tried 5 hrs) was too long (pork turned to, like, shredded pork). Also it was kind of bland - needs a little more seasoning.
