The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.
Shrimp-Stuffed Bell Peppers

ingredients
4 medium bell peppers
1/2 cup milk
1 onion, chopped fine
1 raw egg
2 pounds boiled shrimp, peeled
bread crumbs
3 slices stale bread, crumbled
margarine
directions
Saute onions in margarine.
Chop boiled shrimp into small pieces. Combine shrimp and bread. Add milk, egg, onions and enough breadcrumbs to make firm.
Cut bell peppers length-wise, remove seeds and wash. Parboil peppers until slightly softened.
Stuff peppers with shrimp mixture, place in baking dish, sprinkle with breadcrumbs and dot with margarine. Bake at 350 degrees F for about 45 minutes.
