Slow Cooker Beef and Bourbon

If you've ever sipped a neat, high-quality bourbon with a steak, you'll understand what's so phenomenal about this pairing.

ingredients

3 pounds beef chuck roast, trimmed of fat
salt and pepper, to taste
1 cup sliced celery
2 cans (10 ounce size) condensed chicken gumbo soup
1/3 cup bourbon

directions

Place the roast in the crock pot and season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle the celery around the roast. Pour the soup and bourbon over the top of the roast.

Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours or until the roast is tender.

Slice the roast and serve it along with the sauce from the crock pot over rice or mashed potatoes.
