Apricot Nectar Cake
- add review
- #6604
1-2 hrs
ingredients
1/2 cup real butter, melted
1 box (18.25 ounce size) butter cake mix, plus ingredients to prepare
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup apricot nectar instead of water
Glaze
1 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
1/3 cup apricot nectar
directions
Mix the butter, cake mix and other ingredients, except water, and nectar as directed on the box. Bake at 325 degrees F for about 40-45 minutes. Leave cake in pan.
Glaze while still warm and in the pan. It mixes better if nectar is warmed slightly in the microwave a few seconds. Let stand in pan several hours or overnight.
cook's notes
This cake can be very odd. Sometimes it rises to the top of the pan, and this will use almost all the glaze. Sometimes it falls, so be a little more sparing of the glaze or it may be too wet.

It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).
