ingredients
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
16 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
3/4 cup butter, cut up
2 cups granulated sugar
4 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 eggs
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
2 cups chopped pecans or walnuts
directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In small bowl, sift together flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
In 3-quart saucepan, melt chopped chocolate and butter over low heat. Pour into large bowl; cool to lukewarm. Stir in sugar and vanilla until blended. Stir in eggs, 1 at a time, until well blended. Add flour mixture and stir until combined (batter will be thin). Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
Drop batter by heaping tablespoons, 1 1/2 inches apart, on baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees F for 14 minutes, or until set. Cool on cookie sheet on wire rack for 2 minutes. Transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
