1 can (15 ounce size) black beans, rinsed and drained
1 can (15 ounce size) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 can (15 ounce size) pinto beans, rinsed and drained
2 tablespoons tomato paste
2 cloves garlic, mashed
1/2 cup minced onion
1/2 cup minced green or red bell pepper
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
salt and pepper, to taste
Combine the three beans in a large bowl. Mash with a potato masher.
Add the remaining ingredients and mix until the desired consistency is reached.
Cover the bowl and place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Serve with tortilla chips or other dippers.
