Caramelized Carrots With Onion And Bacon - CDKitchen.com

ingredients

1 pound carrots, peeled and slice on the diagonal
3 slices bacon
1 small chopped onion
3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
freshly ground black pepper, to taste

directions

Cook carrots until crisp-tender, about 15 minutes. Drain.

Cook bacon until crisp. Drain and reserve 1 tablespoon drippings. Crumble bacon and set aside.

Saute onion in bacon drippings until soft. Add brown sugar, pepper and carrots. Cook until thoroughly heated.

Sprinkle with bacon and serve.
