Beer makes batters better, meat more tender, and sauces more flavorful.

These chewy double chocolate chip cookies are the perfect blend of rich chocolate flavor and a soft, chewy texture. Made with cocoa powder and plenty of chocolate chips for a rich chocolate flavor.
1 1/4 cup butter, softened
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
10 ounces chocolate chips
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl. Beat on medium speed with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. With the mixer running, add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
In another bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. With the mixer running, slowly add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix until incorporated, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.
Stir the chocolate chips into the cookie batter by hand.
Drop the batter by rounded teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees F for 8-10 minutes or until the cookies puff up. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Store the cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature. These also freeze well.

I made these cookies, and my husband, the cookie monster, couldn't keep his hands off them. easy to make and quick to go. Will definitely make them over and over again.

Wow! Exceeded all my expectations. I am lactose intolerant and a cardiac patient to boot so I substituted Smart Balance for the butter. Also, I had just used the last of our baking soda on the bathroom drain, so I substituted a tablespoon of baking powder for the teaspoon of soda and omitted the salt. One more thing, I only had two 3.5 oz. bars of Ghirardelli 86% chocolate, which I busted up, so that was 7 oz. instead of the 10 oz. chocolate chips. They came out absolutely fabulous despite my untintentionally sabotagical behavior. (So shoot me. It's no worse than "conversating" or Brian Williams' "explainer" for the tsunami.) They were around 3.5" and I just got 3 dozen instead of 4. That's a good thing because I would have felt worse having eaten FOUR dozen cookies at one time instead of just three!!! Just kidding. No I di'int, but they came out so good I think I could have eaten them all if I could only have had a nice big glass of milk to wash them down. Excellent recipe and apparently "Bob-proof".

These cookies are awesome! My family loves them, and they are quite easy to make. I have noticed that the dough finishes rather "creamy" so I refrigerate the dough for at least a half hour before baking, it then firms up just a bit and I think the cookies stay a little fluffier after cooking too. Last time I made them I substituted about 5 oz of M&Ms for half of the chocolate chips - that was a big hit! ENJOY!

I just made these cookies, and they are delicious! They are the best double chocolate chip cookies I've ever made. I halved the recipe to yield 2 dozen. I added an extra 1/8 cup of cocoa for a little more dark flavor, and I also used dark chocolate chips. I used 50/50 brown sugar and white sugar. I uploaded a photo for a look at the finished perfection!!!
