Banana Cream Cheese Frosting

A rich cream cheese frosting with subtle banana flavor.

ingredients

1/2 cup butter, softened
11 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup sour cream
1 large banana, mashed
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 dash grated nutmeg
1 package (16 ounce size) confectioners sugar

directions

Combine the butter and cream cheese in a mixing bowl. Beat on medium speed with an electric mixer until fluffy.

Add the sour cream, banana, vanilla, and nutmeg. Beat until incorporated. Add the confectioners' sugar in small amounts with the mixer running and mix until fluffy.

Frost cooled cake or cupcakes. Refrigerate the frosting if not using immediately and refrigerate cakes once frosted.
