Banana replaces some of the butter in this frosting recipe to add flavor and reduce the fat content.

2 cups sifted powdered sugar
1/4 cup mashed banana
2 tablespoons softened butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Combine the powdered sugar, banana, butter, and vanilla in a mixing bowl. Beat on medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth.
Spread on cooled cake or cupcakes.
