Vermont Maple Snaps

ingredients
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 cups sugar
1 cup maple syrup
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup cold water
directions
Cream shortening and sugar, then add maple syrup and beat well. Sift flour with dry ingredients and add to maple syrup mixture alternately with water.
Mix well and drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Bake in 375 degrees F oven about 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool before removing from cookie sheet.
