Ingredients:
1 cup shortening
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon maple flavoring
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
3 3/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 cup sour cream
***Icing:***
6 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon maple flavoring
1/2 cup evaporated milk
Confectioners' sugar

Directions:

Cream together the shortening, vanilla, maple flavoring, brown sugar and eggs. In a separate bowl, stir flour and soda together; add to creamed mixture, alternately with sour cream. Drop onto greased cookie sheets and bake at 350* until brown; do not underbake.

Icing: Melt butter and cool to room temperature; stir in maple flavoring and milk. Stir in confectioners' until icing is thick enough. Frost cooled cookies with a thick layer of icing.
