Butter Mints Recipe

Serves/Makes: 10
Ingredients:
1 cup water
3 cups granulated sugar
1 1/2 tablespoon whipping cream
1 1/2 teaspoon white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons butter
4 drops peppermint oil
food coloring
Directions:
Combine water, sugar, cream, vinegar, salt and butter. Cook to 258 degrees on a candy thermometer. Pour on a cold buttered surface. Let cool slightly. Pull candy until it turns bright white and ridges form. Add peppermint oil as you pull candy. Roll into a rope. Cut with scissors into bite-size pieces.
