Chocolate Chip Nut Bars

ingredients
1/2 cup butter
2 cups brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
1 1/2 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup nuts
directions
Melt butter in saucepan. Remove from heat and add sugar and vanilla. Stir well. Add eggs, one at a time.
Stir together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to pan and mix well.
Spread in a greased 9" x 13" pan. Sprinkle with nuts and chocolate chips over surface and press down lightly. Bake at 350 degrees F for 35-40 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
