Candy-Topped Chocolate Chip Bars Recipe

Ingredients:
1 (17.5-ounce) package chocolate chip cookie mix
1/2 cup margarine or butter -- softened
1 egg
1 (4-ounce) bar milk chocolate candy -- broken into pieces

Directions:

Heat oven to 350º.

Mix cookie mix (dry), margarine and egg with spoon until thoroughly blended (mixture will be crumbly until dough forms). Press in ungreased square pan, 8 × 8 × 2 inches.

Bake 25 to 28 minutes or until light golden brown.

Immediately place chocolate pieces on baked layer. Let stand about 5 minutes or until softened; spread evenly. Cool 30 minutes. Cut into about 2-inch squares while warm. Cool completely.
