Surprise Rhubarb Cake

4 cups rhubarb
1 cup sugar
1 package (3 ounce size) strawberry gelatin
1 cup water
2 cups yellow cake mix
directions
Layer in a 9x13" cake pan in the order given above. Drizzle 1/3 cup melted butter over the top. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees F.

I have not made this cake yet.Just want to know if the cake has to be prepared and poured on rhubarb mixture? Or is it put on dry??

To be honest, I was kinda scared if this would turn out or not. But I made it and well it was awesome. A real hit with the kids too. Awesome recipe
