Almond Cake

ingredients
5 eggs, separated
1 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups almonds, finely chopped
Almond Glaze
2 tablespoons butter
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
2 tablespoons milk, or more as needed
directions
Beat egg yolks until creamy. Add sugar and salt and beat until light in color. Combine this mixture with chopped almonds (will be very stiff.) Beat egg whites until stiff and fold in. Bake in a greased 9" square or round cake pan at 350 degrees F for 25 to 30 minutes. Top with almond glaze.
GLAZE: Cream all ingredients until smooth.
