ingredients

1 cup warm water
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1 egg
3 1/4 cups bread flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3 teaspoons active dry yeast
melted butter, as needed

directions

Combine all the ingredients except the melted butter in your bread machine in the order recommended by the machine manufacturer. Select the dough cycle.

When the dough cycle is complete, remove the dough from the machine and set on a lightly floured work surface. Grease a baking sheet.

Divide the dough into 15 pieces and form each piece into a round ball. Place each roll 2-inches apart on the prepared baking sheet. Brush each lightly with melted butter. Cover the rolls lightly with a towel or plastic wrap that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Let the rolls rise for 30-40 minutes or until doubled in size.

While the dough is rising, preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

When the rolls are ready, place them in the oven and bake at 375 degrees F for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Remove the rolls from the oven and let cool on a wire rack. Store the rolls in an airtight container.

This is the only recipe I use now. I use it so often I actually have it memorized. So easy and the rolls turn out perfect every time.

  2. Guest Foodie REVIEW:

I made a note at the top of my copy: Throw out all other dinner rolls recipes. This is the best! I took my time. They turned out light and fluffy and much prettier than the picture. I'm impressed.

  3. Tammy71272 REVIEW:

I am so glad I found this recipe. I was baking bread with the standard recipes from my machine and the loaves were always heavy. This makes light and fluffy rolls and I use this same dough to make a regular loaf of bread. Everyone wants my rolls now!

  4. RubyJ REVIEW:

I make these over and over again and am never disappointed. I am so happy to have found this recipe. And thank goodness for a bread machine. I even give them away after dinner for take aways.

  5. beeman guest REVIEW:

I'm no cook at all, but they turned out perfect. Honestly I'd class them as idiot proof. If you can follow very simple directions you will have fabulous buns.

  8. ColiesKitchen REVIEW:

These turned out great! I actually made them larger I made 6 total for hamburger buns, and I forgot to add the sugar. They turned out great! So if you are watching your sugar intake you can leave it out and they still be perfect! Thanks

This recipe is wonderful! It produces, large, perfect texture, flavorful dinner rolls. I followed the recipe just as written, for me it made 16 large rolls that were gone before the meal was over.

Rather than make rolls, I used this recipe to make 4 mini-loaves. they turned out to be "melt in your mouth delicious".

  14. mamiedennis REVIEW:

Wonderful & easy. Husband and I loved these. Making again today and added rosemary to a few rolls after dough cycle by folding it dough balls. Also put salt or sesame seeds on top before baking. At home with baby, I found this easy to make and I can quickly make roll mini-sandwich and get back to other things. Thank you!
