Hershey Syrup Cake

ingredients
1/2 cup margarine
1 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 can (16 ounce size) Hershey Syrup
Icing
1/2 cup margarine
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup milk
1/2 cup chocolate chips
directions
Cream margarine and sugar; then add eggs one at a time and beat well, after each. Sift dry ingredients and add to above mixture.
Add syrup and bake at 350 degrees F for 50 minutes in 13- x 9-inch pan. Do not over bake. Ice while hot.
For Icing: Boil margarine, milk and sugar together for two to three minutes. Add chocolate chips, beat until smooth. Pour on cake.

Been making this cake for years. My directions are to mix all ingredients together and pour into a 9x13 pan and bake at 350 for 40 to 45 or until done and frost immediately. Found this in a really old (1946) Hershey's pamphlet. Mine have always been excellent
