The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).

My main question is, when do I add the baking powder? I followed the instructions, and added it with the second layer, but since it didn't turn out as I had imagined, I wonder if it should have been with the shortening and the powdered sugar. Still, excellent flavor~
Comment #2 from me... Ooops... now I see the flour in the ingredients. I guess I would recommend that you separate the 'crust' ingredients from the topping ingredients, like you separated the frosting ingredients.
The 1 and 1/2 cups of flour is not in the list of ingredients... please add it. This is a great recipe. I got it out of a Betty Crocker Cookbook that I received when I got married in 1980.

These are great cookies! My mom used to make these at holiday time and I have been looking for the complete recipe (the icing part was torn off the one in Mom's recipe box). Different, but delicious. Thanks for posting this!!!!
