This Italian cheese is so versatile that it can be used in both sweet and savory recipes from cheesecakes to lasagnas.
This iconic whiskey is a "Jack of all trades" when it comes to cooking. Toss it in some pasta, as a savory dipping sauce, and even bake it into something sweet.

I had a "dirty snowball" at my mothers apt. building last Xmas season and they were outstanding and delicious! This year (2010) I decided to make them myelf but my mom lost her copy of the recipe so I searched the ol' internet for a recipe and thought I would start with this one. Everything mixed together fine BUT...they didn't taste nearly as good and as another reviewer stated, they didn't retain their snowball shape, flattened out a bit and ran into one another. I can forgive the shape issue but they just didn't taste that great. They weren't horrible by any means but I brought a plate to work and I'm either taking most home or pitching them. I don't think I will be making this again. Also, this recipe made WAY more than 2.5 dozen. It made I think over 5 dozen at approx. 1" dia. each.

I have made these type of cookies for several years, and I love them but lost my recipe. I tried this one and was also very disappointed. As I was making it I could tell there is too must wet to dry ingredients. As well, even with the greasing of the pan, the cookies still stuck a lot to the pan. I had to wash the pan between each backing round because there was so much stuck.

I was disappointed in this recipe. It did not indicate that the baking sheets should be greased which it did since the cookies stuck to the sheets and broke apart when removing. The recipe indicates that these are "Dirty SnowBALLS" which would make me be inclined to think that they are in the shape of balls. I did not anticipate that they would be a flat cookie and was not instructed to leave room for them to spread. The flavor of the cookies was not as good as I had anticipated either.
