2 cups lard (no substitute)
1 cup sweet wine or any fruit juice
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon anise seeds

I've been buying these cookies for ever, especially for the holiday. These are the best cookies I've ever had home made. They better than the ones sold in stores. Thank you very much for posting your recipe.
