1 large head cabbage 1 pound minced beef (ground beef) 1/3 cup uncooked rice 1 medium onion grated 1 egg, beaten 1 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon white pepper 1/4 teaspoon hot pepper flakes 2 teaspoons sugar 2 cans (8 ounce size) tomato sauce
Remove large outer leaves from cabbage, you should have about 12 or 15 and immerse in boiling water until leaves are limp. Drain leaves and set aside. Combine beef, rice, onion, egg, salt, and pepper in a bowl and mix well.
Roll meat mixture in cabbage leaves, being careful to fold in sides and tuck in ends of cabbage. Place cabbage rolls in slow cooker. Stir hot pepper flakes and sugar into tomato sauce and pour over cabbage rolls. Cover pot and set at Low. Cook 10 hours.
I leave the sugar out but otherwise follow this reicpe to a T. The cabbage comes out very tender from the crock pot.

Made this tonite, it says 4 servings but doesnt tell you that it is 4 rolls a serving. tough part was getting the cabbage away from the head, be patient go for the really pale leaves several layers in. You can do anything with the filling, I added a couple of shredded carrots for the sweetness, way to much red pepper flakes. Wanted more sauce. So am adding another can of tomato sauce to reheat them. Definitly double the amount of rice. Overall YUM YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
