Pizza night is always a favorite, especially when you have great tasting pizza from some of the most popular restaurants.

Love cabbage rolls? Try this unstuffed version made by combining the ingredients in the crock pot. Same flavors, less work!
1 pound ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
4 cups chopped cabbage
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 can (15 ounce size) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 cup uncooked instant rice
1 cup water
1 can (6 ounce size) tomato paste
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons vinegar
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the beef and onion, stirring frequently to break up the beef. Cook until the beef is no longer pink and the onion is soft. Drain off any excess grease.
Add the browned beef and onion to the crock pot. Add the cabbage, bell pepper, tomatoes, and rice.
In a bowl, combine the water, tomato paste, ketchup, vinegar, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until smooth. Pour the mixture into the crockpot. Stir well to combine.
Cover the crock pot and cook on low heat for 4-5 hours or until the rice and cabbage are tender.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

I added oregano, basil, smoked paprika and a little cumin. It tasted so delicious that my partner said he thought it was made from sausage

Too sweet and mushy for us. I threw it out.
Making this for Mothers Day for my mother-in-law as she can not get out nor cook so hope it is as great as the reviews! :)

It worked with the regular rice. At first I thought it wasn't going to but after 5 or 6 hours it was soft. I think that makes way more than six servings.

I have made this twice - love it. Was also wondering about using regular rice. Since the cook time is so long don't you think it would work just fine? I add a tiny can of v-8 juice to mine so that would probably make up for the extra liquid you would need. I think that the regular rice might actually not be as mushy... I will try it and let you know
do you have to brown the beef first?
We recommend it. The texture will be different otherwise.
Can I use regular rice instead of instant rice in this recipe
This recipe was developed using instant rice. Using regular rice would require adjusting both the cooking time and liquid ingredients in the recipe.

We liked it. Easy to make, made no changes to the recipe. Turned out a little spicy but that was fine.

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!! Use it for a dinner at church--first time I have made it--added basil, oregano, tomato sauce and fresh garlic (not powder). Definitely a keeper!! Thanks

I love cabbage rolls but honestly hate the whole rolling process. This is a good substitute as it has all the same ingredients, just with less work. I do cook it longer than 4-5 hours though because I like the cabbage to be more tender.
