I'm a sucker for the old style tatertot hot dish. This totally hit the spot.

  2. kellyjoe REVIEW:

We just loved this recipe, I used 2 cans of healthly request cream of chicken soup instead of one and one cream of mushroom soup and then I used Breakstone's 1/3 light sour cream instead of the milk and it was so good, my family loved it we served with a side of green beans. It is a little soupy but we just dished it into the bowl like beef stew.

  3. Valerie REVIEW:

Ah, the classic tater tot casserole! This one has a slight twist to the usual with the combination of the two soups, and the results were delicious.

I assume a 9 x 13 dish is what you would use for this casserole.

I thought this recipe was very bland. I think it could use more seasonings, and more hamburger. The recipe size was way off, this could feed 8 people.

  6. Tracy McD REVIEW:

Wonderful - I used frozen mixed vegs. instead of green beans and sharp ched. cheese instead of american cheese. Everyone loved it - even my 10 year old pickey eater.

yummy! yummy! yummy! i think this would be good with a veggie in it and possibly a crunchy breading topping!

My family just loved this recipe. My one year old could not get enough. What I like most about this recipe is that it is basic and you can doctor it any way you want to and it will still taste awsome. Add corn, peas, green beans, bacon or mushrooms. try one try them all. I will definetly make this again and who knows what i will add next time.

Should you make up the soups (like add water or milk) or not?

I really liked the flavor, but found it a bit soupy and it definitely serves more than 4 unless they are all adult hungry men. I think I would add more tater tots and you could add more hamburger if you had it available. Also, I didn't test it on kids but have a feeling they would rather have two cans of Cream of Chicken soup instead of cream of mushroom. But all-in-all this was a great dish!!!

This was really good. My whole family loved it. I used a 1 1/2 ground round as my hubby is a big meat eater. It still turned out well. The only thing is this receipe say feeds four....this is a heavy meal. I'm thinking six. Again...great quick meal for the working mom.
