Cabbage Casserole German Style

ingredients
2 pounds ground beef
3 tablespoons onion
2 pounds cabbage or green cabbage
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons vinegar
2 tablespoons sugar or sweetener substitute
1/2 pound butter
some thickener, if needed
salt and pepper

directions
Fry the onion in oil and add the grounded beef. Brown, until the beef is crumbly. Add some pepper and salt. Set aside.
Chop the cabbage and put in a big pot with water, vinegar and sweetener. Bring to a boil, put the butter on the top of the cabbage and cover with a lid. Cook, until the cabbage is ready.
Add the beef and stir. Add vinegar, sweetener, pepper and salt to taste. If needed, add some thickener or some cream

Very good recipe. I did add a can of diced tomtoes the second time it also very good. Served with corn bread . Thank you for the recipe.
