It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).

Creme fraiche is shockingly easy to make at home. Impossibly creamy soups, velvety scrambled eggs, and other previously out-of-reach recipes are all up for grabs now.

1/4 cup cultured buttermilk
4 cups plain low-fat yogurt
In a large saucepan, combine the buttermilk and yogurt. Heat until lukewarm, about 1 minute. Do not over heat.
Remove from the stove and let stand at room temperature for 24 hours.
Refrigerate until ready to use.

The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.
