1 tablespoon olive or vegetable oil
1 pound boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into 1/2" strips
1 jar (26 to 28 ounce size) pasta sauce
2 cups water
8 ounces linguine or spaghetti pasta
1/2 cup whipping or heavy cream
1 tablespoon fresh basil leaves, hopped

In 12-inch skillet, heat oil over medium heat and brown chicken until no longer pink. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
In same skillet, stir in pasta sauce and water. Bring to a boil over high heat. Stir in uncooked linguine and return to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer covered, stirring occasionally, 15 minutes or until linguine is tender.
Stir in cream and basil. Return chicken to skillet, return to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes or until chicken is heated through.

I used a cup of water and a half cup of wine and it was perfect with the sauce that I used. I also added some sliced Portobello mushrooms that I sauteed in butter and olive oil. Good recipe!! Thanks for sharing it!!

It was pretty quick and easy, though I think I'd reccommend a little less sauce or a little more pasta - unless you like your pasta swimmming in sauce. I personally do not. Other than that, wonderful dish.

All in all a pretty good dish, makes for a quick and easy meal when you're short on time and resources.
