ingredients

1 bag (12 ounce size) chocolate chips (semisweet or dark chocolate)
16 slices bacon, cooked and cooled and excess grease removed

directions

Melt the chocolate chips in a saucepan over low heat or in the microwave.

Have waxed paper lined plate or baking sheet ready.

Place the melted chocolate in a shallow dish. Dredge the cooked bacon slices in the chocolate, turning to coat it on all sides. Let any excess chocolate drip off. Place the chocolate covered bacon on the waxed paper lined plate while you repeat the dipping process with the remaining bacon.

Place the plate of bacon in the refrigerator and chill for 15 minutes or until the chocolate has hardened.

The chocolate covered bacon can be stored in an airtight container in a cool place or in the refrigerator.

  2. Valerie REVIEW:

The ultimate in a sweet snack - bacon and chocolate. How can you go wrong? This would make a great gift too. For a more dramatic affect, partially dip the bacon strips in the chocolate so it's clear what is underneath!
