1 1/2 pound ground hamburger meat
4 large green bell peppers, diced
2 large onions, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper (optional)
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 can (6 ounce size) tomato paste
1 large can tomato puree
directions
Saute peppers, onions, and garlic in oil until soft. Add hamburger and brown.
Add the remaining ingredients and simmer about one hour. Serve on torpedo rolls as you would sloppy joes.

Not really sure how this differs from sloppy joes but it made a good sandwich for a group of hungry kids.
