This iconic whiskey is a "Jack of all trades" when it comes to cooking. Toss it in some pasta, as a savory dipping sauce, and even bake it into something sweet.

3 pounds chuck roast
1 can beef consomme
1 package beef au jus
1 package dry Italian salad dressing mix
Plop roast in crockpot. Mix all the ingredients and pour them over roast. Cook at least 10 hours. Shred roast. Serve over hard rolls or French bread, with or without a dribble of the gravy, and top with a slice of cheese (sharp cheddar? Swiss?..whatever is your favorite?).
Made these last night for dinner and I thought my husband was going to cry from happiness. He asked me to make this once a week. One friend I gave the recipe to will not stop talking about them. One thing I did differently: I broiled the rolls with butter and garlic, then added the shredded beef and some grated mozzarella and broiled until the cheese melted. Outstanding!! Highly recommend this recipe.

What's the secret ingredient in these cakes? Pudding mix. It not only adds flavor but it gives the cake a richer, creamier texture. No one will know your secret ingredient!
