Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad

ingredients
2 cups uncooked shell pasta
5  peeled baby carrots, shredded
1 cup frozen peas, thawed
3/4 cup real mayonnaise
1  envelope (1 ounce size) ranch salad dressing mix
1/4 cup bacon bits or pieces
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
directions
In large bowl, mix mayo, dressing mix, bacon bits, shredded carrots and onion powder. Chill this mixture while you continue making the rest of the salad. 
 Cook pasta al dente, drain and cool. Fold in pasta carefully. Gently fold in peas last. 
 Chill for several hours and serve chilled. Garnish top with more bacon bits pieces.

I love this recipe and use it often! It tastes just like the ranch pasta salad you make from a Simply Pasta Salad box. I use Hellmans Mayo and grate my carrots with a fine grater. I suggest bacon bits rather than pieces, as pieces are a little too big. Don't worry about the 2-5 hour refrigeration time...I rinse the pasta with cold water after I drain it. You can serve it right away, or wait.

I tried this recipe with a little subsitution. I used shredded carrots and MIRACLE WHIP! The Miracle Whip gives it that little extra tangy flavor that goes so well with the bacon! Try it!
