Buttermilk Cookie Salad

Even though it's called a "salad", this is a full-fledged dessert! Cookie pieces are mixed with a rich fruit and pudding base for a recipe everyone will want.
ingredients
2 cups buttermilk
2 packages (3.4 ounce size) instant vanilla pudding mix
8 ounces Cool Whip, thawed
1 can (11 ounce size) Mandarin oranges, drained
1 can (8 ounce size) crushed pineapple, drained
1 package (11 ounce size) fudge striped cookies, broken into pieces
directions
Combine the buttermilk and pudding mix in a bowl and mix until the pudding mix is dissolved. Fold in the Cool Whip, oranges, and pineapple.
Cover the bowl and refrigerate the salad for 3-4 hours or until it is set (like pudding).
When ready to serve, stir in the cookie pieces.

I had this at a birthday party last night. It was amazing. light fluffy and tasteful. I would have eaten more ,but the others were fighting to scrape the bowl. a must have dessert.
